As Andrea Battistini remarks:Contrary to the rule, according to which the osmosis between Science and Literature is either impossible or very slow, one generation only was enough for Galileo’s instrument, not only to affect the imagination of poets, but also to change it completely, notwithstanding the fact that many people kept believing in the immobility of the Earth, and kept following Aristotle’s thought.
